The FV PLAST Company – Business on the Go

The FV PLAST Company was established in 1990. Since the very beginning, the production and the related development of plastic pressure piping systems for drinking water and water for industrial purposes, central and floor heating systems was the primary business direction.

Since coming into existence, the Company was, and still is, a purely Czech owned company. Its presence in the field of plastic pipe and fittings has resulted in several fundamental innovations that the plumbing community absolutely takes for granted these days.

In 1991, the FV PLAST Company imported, as the first domestic company, for the production of plastic pipes and fittings the Type 3 Hostalen grey polypropylene. At that time, this was a risky step because the purchase price exceeded CZK 60 per kilogram and the domestic plumbing industry was exclusively using for the production of polypropylene distribution systems the granulate from Litvinov (Type 1 natura or white color polypropylene) with the price of CZK 18 per kilogram! Eventually, this decision proved correct because the incomparable price also meant a much higher quality of the final products and in the course of next three years the Type 3 grey color polypropylene superseded the domestic material completely. Actually, in the Czech Republic, the "Hostalen" trademark became, due to the FV PLAST Company, the synonym for this material.

The period from 1991 to 1997 was noted for the maximum efforts to expand the offered range of products. "Western" producers' catalogs were not only the source of inspiration, but they also seemed to be an unrivalled standard.

At present, the FV PLAST Company has managed to completely eliminate the development lead of western producers and, on the contrary, has even developed items that it produces and supplies to these Western European companies. A classic example of such a product are the PV ball tap valves.

The FV PLAST Company first introduced PV ball tap valves to the domestic market in the spring of 1994, producing only those with the 20 mm diameter. In the course of the years that followed, these PV ball tap valves heavily spread and the use of straight PV tap valves was reduced. Now, the PV ball tap valves represent 85% of all sold tap valve fittings and they are also designed and produced with a drain valve up to diam. 75 mm.

In 2003, the FV PLAST Company started, as the first domestic company, the production of plastic pipes with an aluminum foil. This step forward required heavy investment in production equipment and mastering of a complex technology. Pipes with the aluminum are produced from polypropylene and sold by the FV PLAST Company under the business name of STABI.
